5. John Bull

The selection was wonderful, but beware the petty and unprofessional competition between the Bay St JB store and the Paradise Island JB store. I tried to get a Rolex blue/gold Submariner watch, and there were none available at the Paradise Island store. I asked if there were any at the Bay St store. The initial response was, "no". To my surprise, I saw three such watches later in the day at the Bay St store. I inquired and the manager simply did not want to give up her watches to the Paradise Island store. Again, these are both John Bull stores. It left me wondering what else could be going on behind the scenes that I would deem so unprofessional. I held off buying my watch until I went to the Caymans. Same price, but a much more professional operation.

On a recent trip to the Bahamas, I purchased an Olympus Stylus Verve for $430 only to find that the cost was anywhere from $80-$130 more than would have cost in NYC. I have emailed their website twice and called the main store to speak with someone, all to no avail. I do not mind spending money on a well-known product but the disparity in price is more than a few dollars. Having shopped at John Bull before, I am greatly surprised at the lack of response on their parts.

Just recently on a cruise vacation and traveled over to the Atlantis, was looking for a Rolex submariner for some time and the price was irresistible great staff help and negotiated a good price came home happy.. Will definitely go back.

John Bull's was a great place to shop and the sales staff was wonderful and so kind and helpful. My boyfriend purchased a ring for me while we were there and it is beautiful…I also purchased some ladies cologne. The prices are wonderful and reasonable.
