WOOSTER SQUARE. This colonial square is a lovely spot to take a break thanks to the beautiful cherry trees planted along its border. It is a must-see, particularly in the spring, when the blooming trees provide the ideal backdrop for celebrations and public concerts. The square is named for David Wooster, a son of New Haven who served as an officer during the Revolutionary War. Good to note: Wooster Square lends its name to the surrounding neighborhood, which is home to the world-famous pizzerias, Pepe's and Sally's.
