Locals rave about this friendly little breakfast place, which has amazing strawberry Belgian waffles, tall stacks of fluffy pancakes, and some of the best home fries you'll ever eat. Scrambled eggs, cheese French toast, hot coffee, and plenty of other freshly made breakfast options are available.

This is the absolute best place for breakfast. Everything is made to order in this tiny place, so you get fresh hot and delicious food when you eat there. I have never had home fries as good as theirs. I also love the California Benedict with grilled tomato, sliced avocado and the poached egg on English muffin with delicious sauce. Sometimes, especially on weekends, it's super busy and you have to wait in line for a table. It is totally worth the wait, if you want the best breakfast you've ever had! I love the homey atmosphere with jazz in the background too. The Pantry is all around the best breakfast stop in New Haven if not the entire planet!

The pantry is by far the best breakfasts in New Haven. The atmosphere is very friendly. The service was fast and efficent. The food was amazing, I recommend the french toast or the pancakes. If there is a line it is worth the wait. I have been eating there for 5+ years and never had a bad meal!!

The pantry is a local institution, a hole in the wall with memory-making breakfast food. Be ready to wait as the lines can be long, especially on weekends and during the winter. The best bet is to arrive after 1pm or early in the morning. Bring a big apettite (portions are large), a fair amount of cash, friends, and warm clothing in winter. The food is well worth the wait and the staff is friendly, though rushed at busy times. Hash browns, omelettes, waffles, hot chocolate are rave-worthy.
