7. New London Waterfront Park

DOWNTOWN.   Stretching a half-mile along the water, this exciting park opens up the city to the Thames River and Long Island Sound. It also offers visitors a chance to stroll about on balmy days, watch boats cruise the waterways, and even fish from one of the five piers. In addition, the city hosts festivals, concerts, and other public performances in the park. Even if there's nothing scheduled to happen, the park affords fantastic views of New London's surroundings.   (© 10Best)
