CBD. Beautiful and interesting people are the attraction at this newer nightspot. Housed in the ultra cool International House Hotel, which is managed by a Voodoo priestess, the Loa is located in the hotel lobby. The decor is cutting edge upscale and features tons of candlelight, Gothic mirrors on the walls and comfortably plush settees and sofas. The crowd is eclectic and ranges from yuppie professionals to trendy mavens. Cocktails on the menu run the gamut and the staff is very hip.

CBD. Located in the contemporary W Hotel, this bar and lounge is one of the newest spots to see and be seen. Whiskey Blue is all things modern. From stylish trendy people to decadent cocktails – New Orleans' chic standard is set here. The decor is modern and features blue backlighting near the bar. Black and white photographs line the wall and there is even a mohair-covered king size bed and leather club chairs for lounging. The mood Whiskey Blue creates is great for mingling.

FRENCH QUARTER. This revolving bar is one of three lounges in the elegant Monteleone Hotel. The bar features a working carousel. The ambiance is classic piano bar and the crowd varies from traveling business professionals to die hard regulars. The Monteleone Carousel Bar Café has been a favorite meeting place for locals and celebrities alike. Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams were among its famous patrons. The decor is exquisite and the mood elegant.

WAREHOUSE DISTRICT. Located in the front section of Le Chat Noir cabaret venue, this cocktail lounge serves sassy drinks to a stylish clientele. Brightly colored walls, black and white mosaic floor tiles and a beautiful Yamaha piano accent the interior, and windows face historic St. Charles Avenue. Enjoy a $5-$10 drink credit in the Cabaret Room, depending on the cover charge.

UPTOWN. The name means two bosses, and this Crescent City bar knows how to manage mixing cigars and cocktails. Dos Jefe's is the perfect haven for smoking aficionados – the cigar menu alone features 40 choice types. The ambiance is casual and relaxing. The décor is upscale and the bar menu features everything from ports and whiskies to bourbon and beer. Dos Jefe's patrons run the gamut and include suit-clad professionals and sandal wearing young professors.
