FRENCH QUARTER.   Karaoke and dancing drive the crowd at this popular French Quarter night spot. The Cat's Meow is a purr-fect way to start the evening or end a late night. Housed in an 1820s building that features balconies overlooking Bourbon Street, the bar is known for its six full service bars and the thousands of tunes on the Karaoke menu. There is also a three-for-one happy hour and late night dancing between the karaoke shows! STREETCAR: St. Charles Ave Line   (© 10Best)

I go to New Orleans at least once a year. My favorite place is the Cat's Meow. I go every night that I am in New Orleans. I always have a great time. The people are wonderful.

Great place to have a couple of drinks and then get up and belt out your favorite tune!

He sounds like Elvis. He really does. You can't see him because you're knee-deep in karaoke-loving, mind-eraser-guzzling French Quarter partiers. Nevertheless, he sounds like Elvis and you're pretty sure you've found a place you want to stay for a while. Cat's Meow is the place to go if you feel like you've had a little too much jazz, a little too much of the strip clubs, and a little too much of Cafe DuMonde. It's always a party and you never really get bored...unless you're on the verge of an alcohol coma...which is fairly likely if you've been in the Quarter for very long. Be prepared however. It gets crowded and it's usually filled with people like you--Out-of-Towners looking for a good time. You've been warned. Now, be quiet, this guy is singing "Love Me Tender."
