9. Pat O'Brien's

FRENCH QUARTER.   Home of the New Orleans' Hurricane, Pat O'Brien's is as good as it gets! This bar is THE BAR tourists visit when making a first trip to the Crescent City. Pat O'Brien's features dueling pianists in its cocktail lounge, and there are a total of five bars available. The main bar area features a family ambiance and a classic jukebox. There's also a relaxing patio area on site. Food is also available, and drinkers can (and often do) take home a souvenir from the gift shop.   (© 10Best)

There are two things you must experience at Pat O'Brien's. One is the flaming fountain. The other is a sip or two of the world-famous Hurricane. Sing along with the musicians in the piano bar. Or keep your Irish eyes smiling with a Fuzzy Leprechaun, a libation made from peach Schnapps, blue curacao, vodka, orange juice, and pineapple juice. You'll be dancing a jig before you know it. I went to Mardi Gras this year and right before we headed back to the hotel to get ready for our last night out we ran over to Pat's for a famous hurricane. I don't even like mixed drinks (I'm a beer girl) but it was really good. I loved the people and the entire atmosphere...I wish I would've been able to spend more time there! Maybe next year.

We had a great time. I loved the green drinks. We will be back everytime we come to New Orleans. Thanks for a great time!

Love this place!! Several bars to choose from, we prefer the garden next to the fountain----the dueling pianos at night are incredible to watch---A real must stop for "Nawlins"
