FRENCH QUARTER.   Romantic, Italian style décor adorns this restaurant's large dining room, and an adjoining patio room features a two-story ceiling and garden theme. Although the cuisine is primarily Italian, the Louisiana influence is evident just from glancing at the menu. Appetizers include lightly fried oysters and a fried grit cake with shrimp and a Creole cream sauce. I have hosted numerous dinner parties at Cafe Giovanni. I have never had better service at any restaurant in the French Quarter, and the food is outstanding. Their "tasting menu" is the absolute best for both the food and presentation, as well as the wine pairings. The Seafood Martini appetizer is one of my favorites. Top it all off with the opera singing waitors, and I promise you will have one of the best dining experiences ever.
