Mother's...
There are MUCH MUCH MUCH better places. Mother's is a tourist trap, plain and simple.

the food is not that good, the catfish had no seasoning and the ham was cold, you better off going to popeye's

Geez!...those other reviews were harsh. Y'all must be down wit d'heat or somn'. What, street car broke down again? I LOVE Mother's All I can say is, their food...mmm...make your tongue slap your brains out!

Don't let the line fool you !
We've visited New Orleans several time and even have family there, however, they forgot to warn us about Mother's. We assumed "long line", "good food". The service was terrible, employees argued with each other and customers. The steamtable was filthy and to top it off they served us on broken dishes (plates and bowls). I know good New Orleans food- AND THIS IS NOT IT !

First of all, the service is so rude at this place you want to leave right away. The sandwiches are huge and good, but way overpriced. If you are a glutton then this is your place, but if you want great seafood poorboys and otehr Cajun/creole food, there are so many better choices

Best restaurant I've ever eaten at and I've hit a few in my lifetime. The Ferdi Special is delicious. It actually brought tears to my eyes HA. In fact, it was so good; I called them to see if they would FedEx one to me about a week later.

Great place to people watch. Await in line at time but good food for reasonable prices. Great Ham and the Red Beans and Ham are worth every penny.
