May 17 - May 18, 2008
Ninth Avenue International Food Festival

On this weekend in May, sights, sounds and a wonderful mix of smells take the place of the usual streaming traffic as Food Festival booths line both sides of the avenue, cooking up every conceivable type of cuisine. Most of the food stores and restaurants on Ninth participate, selling samples of their wares as well as specially prepared delicacies. Ethnic fashion for sale too. Ninth Avenue’s broad expanse is closed to traffic from 37th to 57th Streets, yet navigating the throngs can be slow.

Goodbye Yankee Stadium, Hello Bronx!

The end of one Bronx tale is the start of another

The epic of pinstripes, playoff pushes and pennants is quickly drawing to a close ... at least, that is, the version set at the corner of 161st and River. But that doesn't mean you can't embrace Yankee Stadium one last time. While you're at it, go ahead and give the rest of the Bronx a try.
