3. Baltusrol Golf Club

Built in 1895, Baltusrol features two championship caliber courses. The Lower is a classic Tillinghast with a number of striking similarities to Scottish-style courses with large, open areas, well-mounded greens and harsh bunkers. Located at the base of what locals refer to as "Baltusrol Mountain," reading the heavily undulated greens on the Upper is the biggest challenge. Significant changes in elevation, winding creeks and woodland areas also present a unique set of hazards on this difficult course.   (© 10Best)
