The Buzz -- And why wouldn't the Big Apple be home to the world's largest and, arguably, most famous Halloween parade? Sixth Avenue springs to life with a veritable cavalcade of creeps and critters, ghouls and goblins, witches and warlocks. The parade, which was started by a Village puppeteer in 1973, begins on Spring Street and follows Sixth Avenue to 23rd Street, along the way bringing folks from the West Village to the edge of their seats with its fantastic sights and sounds.
