The Buzz -- The "wild" in this event relates to the zoo's exotic animals, not to dancing on bars and drinking to excess. On three consecutive weekends every winter, polar bears Gus, Ida, and Lily get to tear open their Christmas presents, and you get to watch. Don't worry: The monkeys, penguins, and other creatures get presents too, but polar bears are the main attraction. And what, you may wonder, do you get a bear for Christmas? Something smeared in peanut butter is always a good bet! |

A walk through the park takes you past the frozen tundra where penguins frolic and then on to the tropics. Tisch Children's Zoo offers young visitors a place to see the gentlest animals up close. |
