UPPER EAST SIDE.   Daniel Boulud, proprietor of the famous "Daniel" restaurant, also owns the stylish Café Boulud. The menu is comprised of four sections, each with a different focus. La Tradition features classic French preparations, with items like foie gras terrine, roasted duck breast, and chocolate soufflé; La Saison highlights the freshest meats, seafood, fruits, and vegetables of the season. Le Potager is a vegetarian's dream menu, while Le Voyage takes an international approach with dishes from around the world. TRAIN: 6 to 77th St   (© 10Best)

User Reviews for Café Boulud

"Papermooner"
more than a month ago

I made reservations for this restaurant about a month ahead. I was told only a 9:30 reservation was available. We arrived on time and were escorted by a frosty hostess to our table in what I can only term a bland and monochromatic room that reminded me of the staid and uptight private country clubs in Washington DC I am forced to go to for business. This was meant to be aromantic evening. After a good twenty minutes our drink orders were taken and we had by then decided on our choices. A half and hour later the waiter returned saying that unfortunately they were out of both of our choices. The restaurant was already emptying and yet it seemed an eon before the food arrived, tepid, BLAND and tasteless in general. It hurts to splurge on a reknown name and place, only to leave feeling taken and conned and treated like a bloody interloper instead of a guest. Never again.
