What's the fuss over this place?
This restaurant is all about how long it's been around. Your server will be around 60 yrs old, the atmosphere is totally old school and I guess that's fine if you're into that sort of thing... overall the steaks are good- not amazing, the service is slow and choppy, and 0 vibe going on at this place. I'll take Strip House all day!

Lugers is Lugers......the first, the best, the everything. If you live on Long Island I would try Brooks and Porter Steakhouse in Merrick. This place is simply outstanding. Think of it as Lugers on steroids.

The steak is the best anywher, but if you really want to taste something amazing get the bacon app. WOW!!!

Consistency is the hallmark of a great restaurant and Luger's is more consistent than any restaurant I know. The finest quality, aged porterhouse steaks, cooked precisely in high-temperature broilers, served with marvelous fresh rolls, creamed spinach, german home fries and beefsteak tomato and onion salads. Then, for those who are really intent on stretching their stomachs, great cheesecake and strudel "mit schlag" and wonderful coffee. I've been eating there for more than 40 years, and the quality and service are the same year in, year out. Only drawback is the long advance time required for reservations.

Great steak cooked to perfection. Tempting sides and beer. Easy parking. The one against whom all others are measured.

When I want a great steak, there's only one real choice. Peter Luger's is it. Steak done to perfection with great appitizers and sides. You can't go here every week, but every now and then is another story. If you're coming to NY and love steak, check it out.

One word. Over-rated…save the trip...

Still the king of the steakhouses. Peter Luger's does one thing and does it well (or medium or rare if that's your choice). The steaks are juicy and tender, the German fries are sumptuous. The desserts are to die for...especially when topped with their homemade whipped cream. The waiters are surly but it's all a show. They are excellent servers.
