MIDTOWN WEST.   Traditionally, Midtown's famous '21' Club has been the place where the Big Apple's movers and shakers lunch and dine regularly, and the place exudes class and style – from the monogrammed '21' adorning the carpet and wood paneling to the smartly dressed staff and lavishly furnished dining areas. The impressive Bar Room menu includes such options as hickory fired filet mignon with stoneground corn, butternut squash, bone marrow and natural jus, and young lamb rack with artichoke stew, pearl barley, forest mushrooms and wild boar bacon. The elegant Upstairs menu offers prix fixe and tasting menu options. 21's wine cellar is impressive, to say the least. Reservations are preferred. At the bar prix fixe 3-course lunch $33, weekday early evening dinner prix fixe $38; restaurant upstairs prix fixe 3-course dinner $68 per person.
