SOHO.   Situated on Broadway between Broome and Spring Streets, this little eatery nearly straddles the boundary between SoHo and Little Italy. Although Barlo is known for its excellent ravioli dishes, you'll most likely want to try something a little different – you can't go wrong with the daily meat and pasta specials. In the warmer months, couples jockey to dine al fresco in the restaurant's beautiful garden area. Reservations suggested. TRAIN: C, E to Spring St   (© 10Best)

Great place
I have had a lot of great meals in Italy and at Barolo you could almost be there. The risotto barolo is an inspiration, great wine list, the rigationi is alos great - don't miss it

I ate at Barolo the other night with a few friends and we had a very lovely experience! The hostess was very sweet and had us seated at a good table right away, even though we hadn't made a reservation, and the place was quite crowded. The sommelier was also very friendly and he brought out the extended wine list for us, which had over 1000 choices! Obviously, we needed his help to sort through it, and he helped us chose a very nice Rose from Provence, which tasted great, but didn't break our bank! Some of our favorite dishes were the “carne all’albese”; (beef tartare) the spinach salad with mixed berries and blue cheese; the linguine with pesto, stringbeans and potatoes; (a Genovese specialty) the filet mignon with Barolo wine sauce, and the complementary homemade focaccia. The food was delicious and didn't take too long to come out. We don't usually go out to fancy restaurants, but we are definitely planning to return to Barolo because they will be opening their garden soon.
