WEST VILLAGE.   Alfama serves up delectable Portuguese cuisine. For starters, try the Sardinhas de Escabeche – a lovely dish of succulent sardines marinated in a spicy onion and red pepper dressing. Next, savor one of the meat or fish main dishes like the Salmão Fresco Grelhado – grilled salmon topped in a light meunière sauce and served with a side of colorful vegetables. Decadent desserts can follow! All the while, sip on one of their 60 authentic Portuguese wines. Live fado performance offered Wednesdays at 8pm; $5 cover with dinner, and $10 at the bar.
