GRAMERCY.   Located south of Gramercy Park in the elite Inn at Irving Place, this traditional tea parlor is a fashionable afternoon stopover for area sophisticates and daytime socialites. Lady Mendl's will sweep you back to Victorian times – ornate tea sets, antique furniture, fireside tables and authentic Persian and Russian rugs. The tearoom's five-course prix fixe menu includes exotic teas, salad, gourmet sandwiches, scones and cookies. Of course, everything is topped off by a delectable dessert, which could be anything from a palmiers with macaroons or chocolate-covered strawberries to a fruit tart or slice of homemade cake.
