LITTLE ITALY.   Mario Giglio's Nolita bistro, located between Canal and Hester Streets, is an attempt to recreate the taste and feel of Positano, a small town in Southern Italy. This red brick storefront eatery offers just the right amount of intimacy for a romantic dinner. Recommended entrées include the Sirloin Steak alla Carlo with mushrooms and peppers, Rigatoni alla Vodka, Linguine con Calamari, and Veal Sorrentina with eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella. Sidewalk tables are available. Reservations are accepted for groups of six or more. TRAIN: J, M, Z, N, R, 6 to Canal St   (© 10Best)

You cannot beat this restaurant. We will never eat anywhere else but Positano Ristorante when visiting NYC. We love Mario and all his waitstaff. The food is great for the money. There is noting like a great meal after shopping on Canal St for hours with friends. When my husband and I went a few months ago he loved it also. Don't miss out on this besy kept secret on Little Italy.

Food was commonplace. Service was horrible. The waiter was rude. The bill was hand-written and unreadable. When asked to explain, the waiter reacted in very unpleasant way. Turned out that we were charged for wine instead of beer. THE BILL INCLUDED A 20% SERVICE CHARGE. THE WAITER EXPLAINED THAT HE DOES IT FOR EVERYBODY. STAY AWAY!
