Jaiya was recommended as a good Thai restaurant in NYC with reasonable prices. I went in on a Saturday night and have never felt more rushed, been more rudely treated by the staff and tasted food that was nothing but Chili paste mixed in to make what ever you have hot and spicy. AND it was no bargain! We ordered the spicy beef salad to start. Our waitress asked us how we wanted it, we said hot. (My husband is from Thailand I was born and raised in India so we can handle hot) She asked us again, we said we would like it hot, to which she replied “well if you order hot, and I put that order through, I am not going to go back and change your order” This was just the first thing our wonderfully pleasant waitress had in store for us for the rest of the evening. As we gulped our food down, and had just finished paying for our meal, the restaurant hostess came to our table and asked us to “hurry” our leaving as they had more people coming in. My advice, skip this place and go mid town or even downtown for much better Thai food and service.
