UPPER EAST SIDE.   Ever lost a button? If you're looking for a replacement for that impossible to find button, stop by Tender Buttons. Odds are good that they will have it. The store's inventory is extensive – it once took an employee two weeks to count all the buttons on one shelf. This interesting shop is also home to an equally vast collection of antique buttons, cuff links and other gentleman's jewelry for purchase or viewing as museum artifacts. It is as close as an adult can come to being a child again and buying candy in a candy store! The range and sheer volume of buttons is a visual delight; I felt as if I were shopping in a museum. The owner sensed my awe and delight and didn't shoo me away from an employee’s only area that I had been magnetically pulled toward. She, in fact encouraged me to look to my heart's content__if only my husband had been more patient!
