This park preserves the area used by George Washington and his troops in 1779-1780, when NYC was occupied by the British. A good place to start your visit is the Jockey Hollow Visitor Center, where you can obtain maps, as well as information on the park's history, geographical highlights, events and special programs. Guided tours of the Ford Mansion are offered every hour between 10am and 4pm, and there are several other historic sites to explore. With 27 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, this is a popular destination for hikers and riders as well.
