Vanderbilt Mansion

The Vanderbilt Mansion celebrates a way of life modeled on the English country house, the lives of the domestic staff and the relationship of the manor to the surrounding community, rather than paying tribute to just one family. The home is open to guided tours only, but the 211 acres of park land dotted with centuries-old trees, vistas of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains and the Italian Gardens are open to the public for free strolls, picnics and quiet contemplation.
