1. Malmaison Hotel Brasserie

This posh eatery is located in an upscale hotel next to the river. The dark leather chairs lend a clubby feel, and Art Deco frosted glass panels serve as screens to afford privacy in the booths. One wall is entirely covered with bottles of fine wines. Menu selections change every eight weeks so that only the freshest ingredients of the season are used. A chef's special is available daily and may include chicken liver parfait with fig jam and brioche, followed by daube of beef braised in Guinness, and then a tarte Tatin with Chantilly crème.
