Possibly the worst italian restaurant I have ever been in. My wife and I spent a few days in Newcastle this week, and 'stumbled' accross Luigi's - UNFORTUNATELY.
Yes, the prices are cheap, but the place was awful. Waitress (? Manager) publicly arguing with chef / kitchen staff. I ordered potato wedges with BBQ sauce for starter. Wedges were greasy and hard, BBQ sauce watery. Then Calzone Piza for main. Piza pastry was hard, I do not know what was inside they called ham, a horrible soft/raw substance that was nothing like any ham i have ever tasted before. I had one mouthful but left the rest.
I complained about the piza and was told it was new chef and they were having problems. Sort of apology, asked if i anted something else. Did not want to risk it so said no. Asked for bill, and found I had been charged over £10 for wine, when I had ordered a half litre of house wine at £5.90 ish. She said it was a mix up as waiter had put wrong code on bill.
A total disaster. I would never go again.

This Italian restaurant has great food at great prices, the staff are very friendly and the decor is very nice too.
There is a good wine list, and drinks menu. The drinks are a bit over priced, but all restaurants charge over the odds for there thirst quenchers.
Overall I would give this restaurant a 8/10
