Newport Landing Whale Watching

BALBOA ISLAND. Between December and April, the waters off the coast of Southern California become a major attraction as folks from all over the world clamor for seats aboard whale-watching cruises. The stars of the show are California gray whales, which make seasonal migrations between the Bering Sea and the warm waters of Baja California. Other species like the bottlenose dolphin, California sea lion, and great white shark make frequent guest appearances during the daily excursions. Cruises depart at 10am and 1pm Monday through Friday and at 9am, noon and 2:30pm Saturday and Sunday.
