5. In-N-Out Burger

HUNTINGTON BEACH.   From the outside, you'd think this place is your average Hunting Beach fast-food joint, but that's hardly the case. For more than a half-century, In-N-Out has produced some of the region's best burgers. There are no franchises or gimmicks, nothing's frozen, and simplicity is key. Your all-beef burger isn't prepared until you order it, and when it comes out, juicy and tender, you'll swoon with delight. Add lettuce, tomato, and onions, and you've got good eating. Of course, you'll need crisp fries and a shake made completely of ice cream. Luckily, they've got you covered.
