3. Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge

This national wildlife refuge in the Chesapeake area is a top attraction in Norfolk because it’s home to more wildlife than any other local preserve. Indeed, this Norfolk wildlife park's permanent residents include black bears and the endangered Dismal Swamp shrew.
