In 1096, the foundation for this fascinating cathedral was laid. Its spire is the second tallest in England, and its cloisters are said to be the largest monastic cloisters in all of Europe. The structure is similar to that of an Anglo-Norman abbey. The intricate details inside the church include engraved bosses depicting various stories from the Old and New Testaments and numerous ornate carvings. Also found on the cathedral grounds are several homes, the chapel of the King Edward VI School, and the Royal Norfolk Regiments.   (© 10Best)
