This museum is devoted to showing life in Nottingham over the years, and it is also the best place to view the city's gravity-defying caves, where thieves and vagabonds hid out in the 15th century. The museum is nestled in the rocks below the castle and includes five restored 17th-century cottages. Stroll down a recreated shopping street, visit an historic school, and see how people used the caves for storage, cooking and beer brewing.
