4. Sherwood Forest Country Park

You can't go to Nottingham without visiting one of its most famous areas – Sherwood Forest! Follow Robin Hood on the Outlaw Trail, explore the forest, have a picnic, and examine the famous Major Oak. This tree supposedly played a key role in many of Robin Hood's adventures. The Visitors Centre offers a wealth of information about the area and its internationally revered history. Or is it mythology? No one knows for sure, but the staff displays evidence that Robin Hood was a real man who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor.   (© 10Best)
