This is another unique, old-fashioned pub below the castle. With big stained glass windows and a wood-beamed brick exterior, this pub was rebuilt in 1933, but it has one of the oldest pub licenses in the city, dating back to 1688. Legend has it that the innkeeper's children befriended the royal children when they lived in Nottingham Castle, hence the peculiar name. The atmosphere and cask-conditioned ales have kept this pub popular among locals through the years.
