We enjoyed this museum so much, it made our trip to Florida. For a car enthusiast, an antique enthusiast, a history enthusiast, the pleasure factor was at maximum. The displays are wonderful but the written explanations of the cars, the drivers, the antiques and their place in history made this one of the best museums we have gone to...and I have visited museums in England, Italy, Greece, etc.
The staff were personable. There is a picnic area with tables between the two museums. Don (Garlits) had picked grapefruit from his trees and they were offered for free to all. Besides visiting the classic car museum and the racing car museum (both for a very small fee), walk along the two large memorials to racing car drivers on the island in the entrance driveway. A great experience!
