4. Heartland of America Park

DOWNTOWN.   Located along the banks of the Missouri River, this scenic park connects to the Gene Leahy Mall. Heartland of America Park is a landscaped, lighted facility with a pretty water fountain and various pathways. During the summer months, there is also a tour boat ride (costs only a quarter) that provides nice views of the skyline from the river. This is a nice place to view the river or simply grab a sandwich and enjoy lunch in the beauty of nature.   (© 10Best)
