Over rated at best
Upstream would like to think they're tops in food & brew but far from it. While the brews ok, the food is & always has been bland at best at both locations. The service leaves a lot to be desired unless you're a regular. My advice to anyone looking for a good place to eat and have a few beers is to not walk in Upstreams door.You'll be disappointed.

Nice atmosphere, but food very mediocre. Fish and Chips were bland at best, and you could tell the fish had been thawed and frozen again - very mushy. Salads - very plain. Seems to draw a real bar crowd.

I love this place. Definitely the best place in the Old Market. The food is great with huge portions and the beer gets better every time I go.

We think this is the gem of "Old Market" --a huge bar with a wonderful selection of well-brewed ales and lagers. Try their brown ale, it's spectacular!! The food is great, with a selection for any mood, and the portions are very large, nice value, eat inside or outside, upstairs or downstairs. It's all good!!!
