4. Nebraska Furniture Mart

The futon we ordered took a month to arrive, they forgot to call to let us know it was in when it did arrive, and then it was significantly damaged and defective. They couldn't replace it for month. Took four calls to reach a reasonable solution to have the price partially refunded. They are three weeks late getting the money back to us and we have had to call 3 times to find out it just went to accounting today. They have a great selection but for my money I would rather go to just about anywhere else. There customer support is among the worst I have ever dealt with.

I purchased several pieces of furniture at NFM Kansas City. My experience at the store was very positive. The furniture delivered was broken. Some of the furniture was not what I had ordered. The delivery people were very rude. Refused to put down floor coverings and tracked in on my new carpet. I contacted Anthony at NFM Kansas City and he said he would make arrangements to have it cleaned. To this date it has not been done. I would never recommend NFM to anyone. In fact I tell people of my experience.

My wife and thought the store was great and actually incredible. We were on vacation and weren't prepared to buy much stuff but we were talking about how we needed to schedule a trip with our truck so we make a trip and buy some larger pieces. We did buy a small refrigrator to go under my desk. We were very disappointed when we got home (200 miles away) and unpacked the refrigerator only to find that it was the wrong color and was used. There was a rust ring on the top surface; the door seal was cracked in several places; there were several blemishes on the top surface; a plastic tray was cracked; no manual; etc. Very disappointing. We called and NFM did agree to ship us a new refrigerator but I felt their response was very muted considering the situation. While they said this wasn't normal, their tone and means of resolution didn't have the tone of this being completely unusual and requiring above normal response. Quite frankly, I felt like someone in their store felt they could unload this inventory with little fear of it coming back since it was lower cost and we were so far away. Rather than make a special trip to buy a lot of stuff we probably will spend our money locally where the proprietor is concerned about their reputation. Don't shop there.
