DOWNTOWN. This simple modern coffee house has a comfortable, casual ambience. There is upstairs and downstairs seating, and customers can enjoy an affordable cup of Joe while admiring the local artwork hanging from the walls. The 13th Street Coffee Company, which attracts a 20- to 30-something crowd, serves an array of drinks, from espressos to cappuccinos, and offers a variety of sandwiches and desserts as well. The shop also features occasional live music on Fridays.

PACIFIC PLACE. This large bakery/restaurant has some of the freshest food around. When you walk into Wheatfields, the first thing you see is the bakery and its display of cakes, pies, cookies, and desserts, which can be deliciously overwhelming. Sweet treats include a variety of cheesecakes and items like the black bottom peanut butter pie or Alpine chocolate torte. There are puddings and pies, and other notable items include the strawberry rhubarb, Danish rolls, and even the traditional brownie. All are scrumptious and nicely complement a hot cup of coffee.
Coffee fiend? Sweet tooth? You’re in the right spot — our selections serve rich roast coffees and gourmet desserts. Expect to find specialty shops as well as traditional restaurants with an expert pastry chef. Take the time to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere where you can linger and enjoy music, conversation, or a good book.
