2. Strawberry Festival

The Buzz -- Since 1958, this festival has been a Memorial Day weekend tradition, celebrating Garden Grove's agricultural history and raising money for a number of local charities. Although the event's motivations are quite sound, the prospect of lots of delectable strawberries raises its appeal immensely. A large strawberry shortcake-eating event sets off the festivities, which include live entertainment by celebrities and local talents, a karaoke contest, a competition among red-heads, arts and crafts, carnival rides, games, a fun-filled parade, and appearances by soap stars and TV legends like Jerry Mathers and Alison Arngrim.
