3. Pageant of the Masters

The Buzz -- A huge success story that began in the 1930s, this program of tableaux vivants re-creates with flesh-and-blood participants some of the world's most famous artworks. Elaborate costuming, set design, technical components, music, and narration bring the art to life, and visitors marvel at the life-like approximations. In fact, tickets typically sell out well in advance of the show's premiere. Both classic and contemporary works serve as inspiration, and every show traditionally ends with da Vinci's "The Last Supper." N.B. The affiliate Festival of the Arts offers juried art for sale daily from 10am to 11:30pm (tickets $7).
