SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO.
With its location near the railroad tracks, Ramos House Cafe showcases a style and charm that make it one of Orange County's most unique restaurants. Built in the 1880s, the board-and-batten home provides a cozy setting for delicious comfort food, whether you crave something with a hint of Creole spice or an omelet stuffed with locally-grown veggies and flavored with herbs grown in the Ramos's own garden. A great experience for folks discovering the Los Rios district. Patio dining is available.

When the fried chicken salad with buttermilk dressing and home made biscuits was placed in front of my guest, I was jealous...until my own meal came out – wild mushrooms and eggs topped with fresh greens and the best dressing in the world. He had the house bloody mary, but I had a little champagne with peach juice, and everything was right with the world. The owner is a charmer, who not only creates the food, but serves it and checks to make sure everyone's happy. I've flown in to Orange County from Scottsdale just to have a late breakfast at Ramos House. It's worth the trip.

The food is excellent and beyond your wildest dreams. The menu is fresh, and a delight to the senses. The owner and staff are nice and there is a great atmosphere, however the wait can be long.

A wonderful restaurant. The owner literally lives at his restaurant! The servers are beautiful angels and the cooks are all wonderful people. The Chef and owner is honest and always to the point. The music is wonderful and compliments the food and atmosphere perfectly. Try a watermelon mimosa, and hopefully you'll get a chance to sit on the porch and meet General Sherman (the personality behind the operation) be sure to ask for him!
