Since it encompasses lots of differently sized cities and towns, Orange County doesn't boast a single, well-defined nightlife district that makes for easy on-foot jaunts from bar to bar. However, it does offer lots of great, often upscale spots that garner loyalty from local folks and embrace visitors as well. Depending on where you're stationed or where you opt to go, you'll discover plenty of fun hangouts to while away the evening. Anaheim's Downtown Disney_®, for instance, offers familiar standards like ESPN Zone and House of Blues, while Fox Sports Grill at the Irvine Spectrum Center delivers all the drama of matches, meets, and games in a classy space that's as much lounge as it is sports bar. If lounges are explicitly on the agenda, Sutra in Costa Mesa ably satisfies, thanks to terrific drinks, DJs, and an exotic, sense-enveloping setting. Also in town is Shark Club, a jack-of-all-nightlife-trades that offers everything from dancing to billiards. And lest you think that the name refers solely to pool-table opportunists, check out the large, central tank – it's filled with the real thing!
