About 10Best's Orange County Sights & Activities Selections:
Undoubtedly, the main reasons that folks visit Orange County are its beaches and its theme parks. After all, faced with a gorgeous coastline and the presence of both the Disneyland® Resort and Knott's Berry Farm, how could they do otherwise? Aside from fun in the sun and addictive thrill rides, the county is pleasantly diverse in its graces. History lovers relish the palpable sense of time and place that inhabits Mission San Juan Capistrano, its chapel, museum, and swallows. Yorba Linda, home to the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace, also gives examiners of the past an opportunity to reflect on the president's troubled days and see where and how he grew up in then-sleepy California. Laguna Beach's art museum and Huntington Beach's surfing museum also chart local events, documenting how people have responded to or represented the landscape and culture that distinguish Orange County. If such considered ruminations are too sedate for your tastes, the area offers multiple zoos, a wealth of parks and beaches, sportfishing excursions, water parks, and even Catalina Island, an easily-visited haven for fun and relaxation. Plus, any trip to Orange County would be lacking – at least in the eyes of sports fans – without at least an attempt to catch a game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The revered venue where baseball (and football) greats have amazed generations of spectators is practically a historical site in its own right!

This is such a neat acitivty that I had to work for them. I was invited to come out on a whale watching cruise out of Newport Landing about 2 years ago. I was a little skeptical that we wouldn't see much and even worse I might get sea sick. Well I am so glad I did. We saw 3 grey whales and hundreds of dolphin the ocean was like a lake and it was one of my most memoraible days. Now I work at Newport Landing and as one of the perks I can go whale watching all the time. Always great weather and lots to see. Bring a light jacket and of course a camera.
