About Orlando Events
Orlando's a fun place to visit year 'round, thanks to its diverse lineup of annual events. To be sure, Disney fanatics find festivities for every occasion from Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, and other attractions such as Universal Studios and Seaworld have similar bashes. However, there's much more happening in O-town than just theme park hoop-la, so be sure to look beyond the park gates. A premier event each year is the Capital One Bowl, which draws tremendous crowds and follows the famous Orlando Citrus Parade, held several days earlier. Orlando's arts scene is also a dynamic draw for many locals and visitors. The Orlando Museum of Art hosts 1st Thursdays, a monthly evening event where visitors may see a special exhibit and kick back with live music, refreshments and a cash bar. Several arts-oriented festivals, such as the Florida Music Festival / Indie Film Jam foster a creative presence in the city, one that keeps entertainers and audiences coming back for more. -- Elizabeth Baxley, 10Best Editor
