UNIVERSAL. Walking through O'Brien's front door is like stepping onto Bourbon Street, and the Orlando location of this bar is modeled after the New Orleans original, complete with patio, flaming fountain and dueling piano bar. In fact, O'Brien's claims to have invented the concept of "warring pianos," so be sure to take in the show. While you are enjoying the music, sip on O'Brien's other claim to fame: the Hurricane. Other popular drinks are the Purple People Eater and the Skylab. Be sure to bring a designated driver because these mammoth cocktails pack a punch! Casual dress.

DOWNTOWN. Beautiful 20- and 30-somethings strut the floor of this rooftop bar and groove to hip hop, soul and techno. The stylish, cabana-inspired bar offers tantalizing tropical cocktails such as the mojito and pepperita. Guests sit on white beach furniture while they take in the magnificent scenery (views of downtown Orlando aren't bad, either!) and savor the many flavors of the evening. Dress to impress, or you'll likely feel out of place.

DOWNTOWN. Who says you outgrow hide-and-seek? At this downtown bar, you'll want to evade the cameras and two-way mirrors before sneaking into the photo booth. Located between two clubs, the Independent and Bar-BQ, the spot's marked by an intentionally misleading sign with Chinese letters. The dark interior appears small, but extra rooms lurk behind the bookcases. Jukebox tunes play most nights of the week, but on weekends DJs provide the entertainment.

DOWNTOWN. Having trouble finding Tanqueray's? Look down! It's located below street level in what used to be a bank vault. Perhaps this lingering smell of money is why the establishment is a popular power-lunch spot for Orlando's attorneys and other dealmakers. Tanqueray's has an extremely loyal clientele who claim it is a haven from the usual tourist mobs. These same locals rave about the bartenders' skill at pouring a Guinness pint as well as the – couldn't you guess – Tanqueray Martinis. On Fridays and Saturdays there is excellent live jazz and blues. Dressy casual.

INTERNATIONAL DRIVE. A taste of the Islands – in Orlando! With a selection of more than 50 beers and numerous tropical drinks (such as their signature Bahamarita) it's no wonder that locals flock here. The restaurant doesn't accept reservations, and there tends to be a wait. Just order a drink, settle yourself on the roomy porch, and listen to the live reggae band. Casual attire.

DOWNTOWN. Exposed brick walls and dim lighting characterize the interior of this charming space. Great cocktails and a respectable wine selection set Cleo's apart from other neighborhood bars, and the atmosphere, enhanced by live guitar music, is conducive to quiet conversation. If you wish to come when the action's been kicked up a few notches, hit the fun weekly karaoke night.

WINTER PARK. Houston's is where the hip and hardworking young professionals head after a day at the office. By 6pm the bar is slammed with happy hour revelers and diners waiting for a table. Though Houston's food wins raves, so does their view. The lakefront porch is the perfect place to sit, relax with a cocktail, and watch the sunset. Dressy casual.

DOWNTOWN. Christmas lights and an array of sports and travel memorabilia add flavor to the interior of this relaxed hangout, where you'll meet all types. Live acoustic bands frequently grace the stage, and on weeknights, the after-work crowd gathers on the patio to unwind over Casey's famous concoctions. A great place to mingle with the locals!
