6. Charley's Steak House

I had eaten at Charleys on I-drive on 2 prior business trips to Orlando and had excellent meals. However, the 3rd trip this past week was disastrous. I had planned to get my usual, the small Filet, but was talked into trying the evenings special, a Kobe Steak. Having never had Kobe beef, I thought I'd give it a try. I did have some reservations though, as the price tag was HIGH - $69. It had better be good. Well, it was the most blase steak I've ever had. 50% of it was inedible and the rest was no better than something you'd find at Denny's. I was thoroughly disgusted. As you can imagine, the value I received was nowhere near the price I paid. I doubt I will return. I returned to my home city of Albuquerque and purchased a Kobe beef hamburger, claimed to be the best burger in ABQ, and, at $12, it was. It is to bad that you can't leave feedback directly with the restaurant. I'm sure if I call them my words will fall on the deaf ears of a dedicated staff member.

Charley's is one of the finest steakhouse restaurants I have ever been to. The service was excellent. The food was also excellent. I would recommend it to anyone. We had a great experience there.

If you can be lucky enough to enjoy the atmosphere with other patrons who dress appropriately and dont have screaming kids all over the place then Charleys is fantastic. The salad bar is by no means "ponderosa" and is simple but fresh. The onion soup is amazing as well. I've been to the OBT location 3 times and wont go anywhere else. The steaks are cooked perfectly and for the price cannot be beat. I couldn't imagine paying double that price for a steak at any other restaurant. Never yet been disappointed. Next time, im going for the 20oz filet mingion stuffed with bleu cheese.

Waited for 10 minutes after getting a table before someone came to get drink order. Then when both of us ordered filet and Austriallian lobster tail @ $2.75 per ounce, they showed up with only one tail, told us the other one would be right out, wrong! 20 minutes later. We asked for it to go, along with the remaining 1/2 of one filet, they never brought it back. it went to the trash and the manager never showed up after 10 minutes of waiting. In all of my dining experiences this is THE WORST in my life. Just in simply terms, THE WORST, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!

Frequent Charley's on I drive, noticable improvement in the food and overall experience in the last 2 years or so. A new Chef has taken this restaurant to the next level without a doubt.

My husband, friends and i have visited two of the Charley's steakhouses and both times we had memorabley awful experiences! The staff at the I-Drive restaurant were mostly rude, argumentative and it was an experience i would urge no-one to undergo especially at the price! We were not served our included salads or bread for 45mins after sitting down (it was late and not busy as we had waited 1.5hrs for a table). The floor manager who served us forgot the wine we had ordered and so had to return to ask us again, and in fact we had this happen several times during our meal as she constantly forgot what we had ordered. The table staff clearing our table after the entree, stood at one end of the table and asked us to pass down the plates, so that they didn't have to move around the table collecting our debris, something which should always happen i n any class of restaurant! The attitude of our server, who was the floor manager at Charley's was so rude and provided the worst service we had ever encountered. She was very insincere in her apologies and told us we could have deserts on the house...Great! She then proceeded to laugh at us and chatised us when i pushed aside the squashed up desert, which she had cheerily thrown in my direction, whilst commenting "uummm yes that looks a bit messed up!" ..It was then actually another member of staff who noticed the appalling state of the desert who then whisked it away and brought another more perfectly formed desert for me to eat...However, at this point we had had enough of the awful service and were prepared to leave and comment to the manager. The member of staff then claimed she was as high as you could get in the restaurant and began to pick a fight with us over our seemingly fussy requests...We really could not believe the experience at Charley's and finally as were about to leave the member of staff did offer a pathetic apologee for our awful night of what turned out to be more of a farce than a fine dining experience....Go to Charley's at you peril, or if you want to be insulted and annoyed!!!! we will be spending our money in the much more classy and well staffed Capital grille during future visits.

Best filet ( center-cut ) in the country!

Average just about covers it. Choice cut beef–NOT prime so the price is lower than the major players serving PRIME cuts. A salad bar in the middle of the dining area – families galore – lots of kids. Not the best place for a quiet dinner for two.

I visited Charley's Steakhouse for my birthday and must say that the experience did not meet my expectations. They had a Ponderosa-style salad bar and the meal was not at par with Morton's, Ruth’s Chris or other notable steak houses.

Had the best time there, excellent!!!

Charley's is probably the best steak house in Orlando. It has been voted #4 in the U.S. I recommend if you are coming to Orlando for a convention you make reservations early. It can be very difficult to get in when the area is busy.
