DOWNTOWN. This 110-acre park, located on the shores of scenic Lake Winnebago, invites folks to play baseball, tennis and soccer or to skate, bike or hike on the two-mile recreation trail. A swimming beach, boat launch, and several picnic shelters are available, and a miniature train and merry-go-round delight little ones. From May through September, Menominee Park also boasts a seasonal zoo. Animals are leased from facilities in other parts of the country for a summer up north and returned when colder weather starts. The lease program allows the 8-acre zoo to present a wide and changing variety of animals – 30 to 50 each season. For several years now, zoo benefactors have made sizeable contributions that offset admissions fees; you may want to call for details about pricing beforehand.
