DOWNTOWN. Local lumber baron John Rogers Morgan built this exquisite Queen Anne residence in 1884. Today, the Winnebago County Historical Society is lucky enough to call it home. Fireplaces, woodwork and gardens are all historically correct and represent late 19th-century Victorian living. The house's most noteworthy feature is its Lincrusta wall coverings – this period innovation affordably mimics carved wood paneling or tooled leather. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
