DOWNTOWN. The City of Oshkosh owns and operates this restored Victorian theater, built at the height of the lumber boom in 1883. Renovations have preserved many of the structure's charming details like marble fireplaces and ceiling cherubs. These days, the opera house is known for its free summer movie series and for showing hard-to-find foreign films. Other family-friendly events include screenings of Hollywood musical favorites like "Oklahoma!" and culture nights that feature events like dining on Italian cuisine while listening to Italian music. Casual to smart-casual attire.
