5. Winnebago County Community Park

OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN.   Oshkosh's largest park within the city limits is open every day of the year. Soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts and an archery range number among its perks, as do a BMX bike track and a mile-long fitness trail. The 270-acre park also offers a fishing lake and supervised swimming lake during temperate months. Several well-maintained picnic shelters provide space for an al fresco lunch or dinner, and dogs are not only allowed at this park – they're provided a special area in which to run free.   (© 10Best)
